BSG 2010
he British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) will hold its annual conference for 2010 at Liverpool’s new conference centre, the ACC. The event, which is expected to attract 2000 delegates to the city, will run from the 22 – 25 March and is the key conference in the calendar of British Gastroenterologists. The exhibition will run in line with the three main conference days, 23 – 25 March. Unlike 2009, the programme will run in its original format with the post graduate day for 2010 taking place on the Monday, and the main meeting taking place Tuesday – Thursday. Liverpool’s ACC is a new and inspiring venue for the BSG meeting and in line with this, the BSG plan a number of other innovations, including case based sessions, debates and invited political addresses.

Delegate Profile
The BSG has over three thousand members drawn from the ranks of physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dieticians, and others interested in the field. It is expected that around 2000 of these majority UK based delegates will attend BSG 2010 in Liverpool following on from excellent delegate numbers in Glasgow in 2009.

Sponsorship Opportunities:
Satellite Symposia
There are session slots available for sponsor on the Tuesday and Wednesday evenings following the scientific programme as well as on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings of the conference prior to the official sessions. Non-competing sponsored symposia can run simultaneously or, to ensure maximum delegate numbers, the opportunity exists for sponsors to opt for exclusive ownership. Subject to conference guidelines and approval, companies will have full control of the format and content of their session.
CPD accreditation is required for anyone wishing to hold a satellite symposium. The BSG will require a copy of your proposed programme and this should be sent to the secretariat.

This is a highly visible and well utilised area of the exhibition hall, creating its own delegate traffic. Sponsorship of this item would include:
- company logo placed alongside the internet cafe information detailed in the conference programme booklet
- logo on internet café signage
- logo included on screen savers
- own company website as internet homepage
- opportunity to provide additional branded items, such as mouse mats etc
- ½ page colour advert in the conference programme booklet
- a free delegate bag insert.
Audio Visual (1 sponsor only) £7,500 plus VAT
The sponsor of this item will see their logo included on the conference holding slide which will be displayed in every session room on the projector screens before and after each conference session. The holding slide, and therefore the sponsor’s logo, is an image that resonates throughout the conference. Sponsorship of this item would include:
- company logo on the conference holding slide
- branding of the speakers’ preview room with company logo
- ½ page colour advert in the conference programme booklet
- a free delegate bag insert.
Poster Boards (1 sponsor only) £7,500 plus VAT
The posters will be housed within the exhibition hall, with around 350 posters on display at the conference over the 3 main days. The posters will change each day and poster presentations will take place during the lunch breaks. Sponsorship of this item would include:
- company logo on the poster headers
- an acknowledgement board on one or more of the poster boards
- ½ page colour advert in the conference programme booklet
- a free delegate bag insert.
Branded Items
Conference Bags (1 sponsor only) £7,500 plus VAT
This is a much sought after sponsorship item due to its high profile throughout the conference and beyond. Every delegate will receive a conference bag on their arrival containing all relevant conference print including the conference programme booklet and book of abstracts. Benefits included with sponsorship of this item include:
- sponsor’s logo to appear on the conference bag (up to two colours)
- ½ page colour advert in the conference programme booklet
- a free delegate bag insert.
Conference Badge Lanyards (1 sponsor only) £2,500 plus VAT
All delegates, speakers and conference staff will receive a name badge on a lanyard which must be worn throughout the conference. The sponsor of this item would be entitled to have their logo appear on the conference badge lanyards (one colour).
Branded Items, Provided by the Sponsor:
Conference Notepads (1 sponsor only) £1,250 plus VAT
Every delegate bag will contain a notepad. The sponsor can provide their own branded notepads to replace the conference branded items. The sponsor will have the opportunity to use the event logo if they so wish (finished product subject to approval).
Conference Pens (1 sponsor only) £1,250 plus VAT
Every delegate bag will contain a pen. It is a well utilised item which delegates can retain; a sponsor can provide their own branded pens to replace the conference branded items. The sponsor will have the opportunity to use the event logo if they so wish (finished product subject to approval).
Delegate Bag Insert £750 plus VAT
An insert can be included in every delegate bag for the above cost and is an excellent way of putting information straight into the delegates’ hands on their arrival. Literature can be up to A4 and is subject to approval.
Umbrellas (1 sponsor only) £4,000 plus VAT
Sponsors can provide their own branded umbrellas to be given to delegates on their arrival along with the delegate bags. This is obviously an item which delegates will keep and use long after the conference. The sponsor will have the opportunity to use the event logo if they so wish (finished product subject to approval).

Conference Programme Booklet (1 sponsor only) £7,500 plus VAT
Every delegate and speaker will receive a copy of the conference programme in their delegate bag on their arrival at the meeting. This document will also be available for download from the new BSG website as a PDF in the lead up to the conference and post event. Sponsorship of this item would include:

Registration Area (1 sponsor only) £7,500 plus VAT
A key sponsorship item; this is the first area delegates visit on their arrival at the conference, as well as being the first port of call for information and service for the delegates. Sponsorship of this item will include:
- acknowledgement with logo on the registration desks
- registration area branding in the form of space for up to two pop-up banners
- 1 x full delegate registration giving access to all conference lectures, a set of conference materials and refreshment breaks
- ½½ page colour advert in the conference programme booklet.

Refreshment Area / Tea & Coffee Sponsors £3,500 plus VAT
A natural opportunity for delegates to network and share ideas during the proceedings is the coffee breaks throughout the day. This sponsorship opportunity affords you the chance for maximum exposure of your company identity as tea and coffee is available continuously throughout the day for the duration of the conference sessions. Sponsorship of the refreshments for a day would include:
- acknowledgement with company logo at the coffee break areas
- company logo will appear in the conference programme booklet as a credit alongside the coffee break listing
- the opportunity to provide additional branding, subject to approval.
Lunch Sponsors (1 sponsor per day) £15 + VAT per delegate
Lunch will be available on a daily basis within the exhibition area and sponsorship of this item would include:
- input in menu selection
- acknowledgment with company logo at the lunch areas
- company logo will appear in the conference programme booklet as a credit alongside the lunch listing
- 2 x full delegate registrations giving access to all conference lectures, a set of conference materials and refreshment breaks
- the opportunity to provide additional branding to lounge areas within the exhibition on the sponsored day during the lunch break only

Exhibition Information
The exhibition will be held on the lower floor of the conference centre taking in the Lower Galleria and the new Liverpool Arena. The posters, internet café, teas/coffees, lunches and computer workshops will all be housed within the exhibition hall to maximise delegate traffic through this area. Tea and coffee will be served continuously throughout the day to encourage a steady stream of delegates to the exhibition.
The exhibition build will take place on Sunday 20 March and Monday 21 March with the provisional exhibition open hours as follows:

Stand Dimensions
On the floorplan, space has been divided into stands of the dimensions 3m x 3m, but companies are by no means restricted to this and we would welcome any requests for stands of an alternative configuration should that be more suited to your needs.
Space Only Package
Rate per sqm for space only: £450 + VAT until 31 December 2009, after which, space costs increase to £550 + VAT. A space only package includes:
- 2 x exhibitor registrations for the duration of the conference per 9 sqm
- complimentary tea and coffee
- exhibitor listing in the exhibition guide
- acknowledgment on the conference Website
- conference pack – each stand will receive one delegate bag so as to have a copy of all relevant conference literature.
Shell Scheme Package
Rate per sqm for shell scheme: £500 + VAT until 31 December 2009, after which, stand costs increase to £600 + VAT.Exhibition space with shell scheme package includes:
- shell scheme; includes 2.5m high white panels, full ceiling grid and fascia panels with nameboard displaying exhibitor name and stand number
- carpeting
- 1 x 4ft trestle table & 2 x chairs per stand
- 1 x 500w square pin socket outlet per 9 sqm
- 2 x 120w track mounted spotlights per 9 sqm
